Different Ways To Style A Printed Skirt
I find that during the summer months I tend to take more fashion risks. Trying out new trends, choosing brighter colors (hello Barbie pink), wearing pops of sequins, rocking some open back tops, and even trying bold prints. I recently discovered a polka dot printed slip skirt. At first I was so unsure as to what I would pair with the skirt. I thought I would have to look for a new blouse to accompany it to create a full look. However, I was determined to find options in my closet that would work well with the print. I surprised myself with what I owned that paired very nicely with the polka dot print. Here are different ways to style a printed skirt for any occasion.
Off To The Farmers Market

For a casual stroll through a farmers market or even a brunch date, try adding a touch of parisian flair. I personally love a French girl aesthetic, so I paired the polka dot skirt with an off the shoulder peasant blouse and wicker purse. Peasant style blouses are great for any season, but this linen one is so comfortable and great for the summer weather.

To make the look a bit playful, I added some colorful wrap up sandals. For a daytime look make sure to opt for a flat style shoe.

Heading To The Office

For a more business appropriate outfit, try pairing the printed skirt with a fitted blazer. You could really do any style blazer, an oversized one would also work well. Adding a simple high neck tank top under the blazer makes this look comfortable yet professional. I love layering tank tops and t-shirts even for a professional look. It allows you to easily transition the outfit to after work outings like grabbing drinks with friends. Just simply ditch the blazer and you still have a put together outfit.

Adding some comfortable suede loafers and a brown leather satchel bag ties the look together and makes a perfect work ready outfit.

Night On The Town

For a night out with your significant other or some friends, try pairing the printed skirt with a crop top. This spaghetti strap top is open in the back and ties around the waist. This top shows a little more skin than I would wear in the daytime, so I prefer wearing tops like this for a evening look. I also try not to show too much skin at once so pairing this style top with a longer skirt balances out the look.

Adding a pair of cream wrap up heels dresses the look up a bit more. I added a crochet purse with beaded flower details. You can always add another layer to this look like a knit, blazer or jean jacket.

You can always mix more casual pieces like this denim jacket with more formal pieces like a silk skirt. The combination of the two gives a cool and personal feel to your outfit.
