How to Style Loose Fitting Jeans

Loose fitting jeans is a trend that is here to stay. Not only are they on trend, but they are super comfortable. Denim is very versatile and can be styled many ways. It can be a great way to dress down your look, or you can mix in fancier pieces to create a more playful feel to your outfit. I wanted to share three ways you can wear loose jeans. From super casual, chill vibes to more dressed up versions. Here is how you can style your loose fitting jeans.

Denim on Denim

Don’t be afraid to layer denim on denim. I personally like layering denim on denim but chose to break it up with a tank top. For a more relaxed outfit I paired my loose jeans with a denim button shirt and a crop top. This is a very simple outfit but has a cool vibe to it without trying too hard. This is great for running errands, heading to class, or just hanging out with friends. You can easily add a full length tank top underneath instead of a crop top if you prefer.

Add Unique Accessories

Tucked in Knit

A great way to get more use out of your sweaters is styling them in different ways. I decided to pair my loose fitting jeans with a polo style, button down knit. I buttoned up the sweater and tucked it into my jeans. The knit is more on the form fitting side so pairing it with a looser style jean balances the look out.

Playful Touches

Add some playful touches to your outfit. A great way to add some personality to your look is through accessories. Accessories give you the ability to add color, texture or a print to your outfit. I paired my outfit with one of my favorite wicker bags that I thrifted. It not only adds texture to my outfit but it also adds a little color. I also tied a scarf around the handle to make it a bit more fun. I added some playful heels that have fruits and vegetables on them. My heels add a pop of color and a bit of whimsy to my overall look.

Turtleneck and an Oversized Blazer

The bigger the better when it comes to blazers. Oversized blazers is a trend that is not going anywhere. Don’t be afraid to layer an oversized item with another. To balance the two oversized pieces, I chose a form fitting turtleneck sweater. The blazer really helps to dress up the jeans. This outfit is great to wear on a date or into the office.

I love mixing more structured, professional looking pieces with more relaxed, casual items. The combination makes an outfit feel stylish and cool. Adding some pumps to this outfit completes the look.
